I'm a GP partner and Clinical Safety Officer (DCB0129/DCB0160). I help health-tech companies, NHS organisations and investors turn promising technology into products clinicians will actually use and healthcare systems will actually buy, safely.
At a glance
What I offer
Health-tech work usually starts at a specific moment: an NHS customer has asked for a clinical safety case, a deployment needs signing off, an investor wants to know whether the clinical claims stand up, or a team needs to get up to speed. Every engagement starts with a free conversation.
01
For manufacturers (DCB0129) and NHS organisations (DCB0160)
I act as your named CSO: understanding how the product works and where the risks are, reviewing your documentation, running the hazard workshop, producing the DCB0129 or DCB0160 safety documentation, and staying on to assess new features. Typically one to two months from contract to safety sign-off.
How clinical safety work runs02
For founders, product teams and health-tech investors
Senior clinical input before the expensive decisions. For founders: is this solving an important enough problem, will the NHS buy it, and what will clinical safety and evidence require? For investors: do the clinical, regulatory and NHS market claims stand up?
What startup & investor advice covers03
For product teams, practices, PCNs, training hubs and events
Practical sessions on clinical safety and using AI safely in healthcare, from DCB0129 for product teams to governing AI use in general practice. Remote or in person, tailored to the audience.
Talk and training topicsAfter a first project, I can also stay on as an ongoing clinical adviser. Ask about ongoing support →
Selected work
A selection of clinical leadership and advisory work across NHS and health-tech settings — spanning AI, medical devices, and primary care transformation.
Advised on regulatory positioning, clinical risk, and safe deployment strategy for an AI chatbot in an endoscopy pathway, handling patient communication pre- and post-procedure. Led hazard identification around AI-generated clinical content, patient misinterpretation risks, and failure mode impact on clinical workflows.
Led clinical safety strategy for middleware connecting a patient monitoring device to an EPR system. Directed hazard identification across data integrity, connectivity failure modes, and clinical workflow risks — advising on how automated data transfer into the patient record should be governed to maintain clinical safety.
DCB0160 — deployment safety for NHS organisations
Extensive DCB0160 clinical safety and regulatory advisory work undertaken on behalf of ICBs, GP federations, and individual practices — covering a range of primary care digital health products across the following areas:
About me
I'm a GP partner and clinical leader with a decade of experience at the intersection of medicine, digital health, and AI. I've advised NHS ICBs, GP federations, and health-tech companies ranging from early-stage startups to established enterprise products — on clinical safety, regulatory positioning, product strategy, and identifying viable clinical markets.
My work sits at a crossroads that few people occupy: I understand what clinicians actually need, what the NHS will and won't adopt, and how to translate that into product and commercial decisions. I've seen health-tech succeed and fail, and I know which variables matter.
I'm increasingly focused on executive clinical leadership — working with high-growth health-tech and AI companies that want a clinical voice at the strategic table, not just in the compliance column.
